How Do I?

To receive a library card you can fill out an application in person at Seaford District Library, or get a library card via https://lib.de.us/librarycard/. After getting your library card, you will be able to put items on hold and browse the catalog.
Login to Your Account, Renew Checkouts and Place Holds
You have the ability to sign up for text message alerts when you fill out your library card application. If you would like to switch to getting text messages as your method of being notified about your holds, please contact us at 302-629-2524.
Renewing your library card requires visiting the library and providing photo identification with your name and current address.
Our materials can be returned inside the library or outside in the blue & white drop box.
You can pay your overdue book fees at the library with cash or card or check.
Use your library card to sign into the computers provided in the library.If you do not have a library card, you can get a guest pass from the front circulation desk.
In need of a Chromebook or WiFi hotspot? At Delaware Libraries, you can borrow technology! Each device comes with a case and charger that can be borrowed for one week (7 days). Before the week is up, please call your local library to renew it or else it will be turned off by the State. Also, please note that free WiFi can be found inside our library, as well as the parking lot for personal use.
Visitors may print documents/images from the library’s public computers or from their personal mobile devices. Cost for black and white printing is $0.25/sheet.
Faxing & Scanning services are available at the Reference Desk. The library only offers domestic, outgoing faxes but cannot accept incoming faxes. To receive faxes, please use the services offered by the UPS Store in Seaford, DE. Faxing costs $1.00 per page. Scanning services are also $1.00 per page.
Study rooms are free & are first come, first serve. These rooms can be used during our hours of operation. To reserve a meeting room, you must consult with our activity calendar to see if there is any availability during that time. The only meeting room that is available to reserve is the Woodruff Room. The Woodruff Room is able to hold 250 people. Tables and chairs are available to use. There is a $100 flat rental fee and the room must be book during the operating hours. With the tablets, you can Zoom, Skype, and use other video-conferencing software for telehealth, legal support, and employment assistance. Reserve a time at a “social service kiosk” at Delaware Libraries.
