In order to get a Free Delaware Library card you must live in Delaware and have proof of residence. Anyone who would like a Delaware Library card who does not live in the state of Delaware must pay a $25 fee. You must fill out our Seaford Distract Library Card Application. When you come into the Library you should bring your Delaware license or a picture ID and two types of proof of residence.
There are many different ways that you can search the Delaware Library Catalog. We have the website online as well as an app. In order to get onto the website you go to Seaford District Library.You then type in the title of the book you are looking for in the Search bar. Then you scroll down and choose your filters on the side such as the item type, material type, format and what library. You can use the silver “Select an Action” drop down menu and click “Add to My List” to add it to an online list of books you want to read. You could also select the “Email” button to email yourself or others the information about this item, and the last option on the list is to click the “Print” button and print out the information. You can also place a hold on it by clicking the purple “Place Hold” button to the right of the screen. After you click the “Place a Hold” button you log on with your library card and PIN number and then choose the library you would like to have your item sent to for pickup. You can also click the “Your Account” button at the top of the screen and view all your checkouts, renew your checkouts, view your holds and view your fines.In order to use the app you must first download it. Once it is downloaded and you open the app it asks you to choose a library to set as your home library to Seaford District Library. Then you have options on what you would like to do. To view the catalog you choose the top option that says “Catalog”. You then type in the author or the title of the item that you are looking for. Then you would scroll down and find the item and if it is not on the list then we do not have it. If we do have it you can select the title and view the titles information and if you select the “Request” option you can place a hold on the item.
To return your checkouts you must bring them to a branch of the Delaware Library system. Any items that were checked out in a Delaware Libraries library can be returned to any other library in Delaware. You can take them to your closest library and drop them in a drop box outside or you can bring them inside to the library staff during opening hours.
You can view your fines online on your account howver, at this time you still need to come to the library to pay them. You will need your library card to complete these transactions. You can no longer check material out if you have over $5.00 in fines or fees.
There are two ways that you can book a meeting room at the Seaford District Library. You can fill out an online application.and you will be contacted by a library staff member confirming if your meeting room reservation is approved. The other option to book a meeting room is to visit the Seaford Library and fill out a Meeting Room application at the circulation desk and fill it out and turn it in to one of the library staff. The Meeting Room Manager will contact you about your application as soon as your reservation is approved.
There are two ways to use our computers. You can come in and get a guest pass, and in order to get a guest pass you have to be over 18 and have an ID with you to prove it. The second way to use the computer is to come in and use or get a Library Card.
